First, how are your New Year's resolutions and goals going? Are you sticking to them? If you haven't, go check out the last blog post on How to Achieve Your New Year's Resolutions Long Term!

Now, Happy February and Happy Heart Health Month!

Did you know cardiovascular (heart) disease is the leading cause of death for both men and women in the United States and it can actually be the most preventable?!

Did you know that chiropractic care can help in that prevention?!

The heart and blood vessels are connected to the central nervous system, which we know is connected to the spine. The nerves connected to the heart and blood vessels control heart rate and blood pressure.

There are many heart health benefits that come from adding Chiropractic into your routine health regime including:

  • Lowering blood pressure
  • Improving nerve function of the heart
  • Improving lung capacity
+ poor lung function has been linked to heart failure
  • Improving vasodilation and constriction response
+ this is how your body dilates or constricts blood vessels appropriately based on it's environment

Of course, heart health does not stop and start at Chiropractic. Combined with a proper diet, 30 minutes of daily exercise that increases the heart rate, 7-8 hours of sleep, and stress reducing hobbies or activities done for enjoyment can all help to prevent cardiovascular disease and allow you to live a long, happy and healthy life!
